Marla McKenna inks book about how dreams come true

On April 21, 2018, Marla McKenna will release her latest children’s book, entitled A Soccer Summer Dream with the Milwaukee Torrent. The story features twins, Alexandra and Dylan, and tells how they work together to fulfill their dreams. McKenna has partnered with Brenda Kato for the book’s brilliant illustrations, and Nico 11 Publishing and Design.

“It’s a fun, action packed soccer story filled with excitement, and it shares the special bond between a brother and sister,” states McKenna.

Marla McKenna is the author of her best seller, Mom’s Big Catch, where she has partnered with major and minor league baseball teams including the Milwaukee Brewers, Sadie’s Big Steal, the second book in the series, and I’m a Secret Superhero. She has shared her message of patience, positivity and perseverance to students in hundreds of schools across the United States. Teaching children to follow their dreams and believe in themselves is also important to McKenna.

A Soccer Summer Dream with the Milwaukee Torrent will be released and available at the Torrent season kickoff party on April 21, 2018 at Anodyne Coffee Roast located at 224 W Bruce Street in Milwaukee. The event begins at 6pm. Those in attendance can purchase the new book for $15. A portion of the proceeds from each book will benefit the Milwaukee Torrent Community Foundation.

If you are unable to attend the kickoff party, the Torrent inspired work will be available online at, as well as at all Milwaukee Torrent home matches this season, and everywhere books are sold.
